• 1921: Jack Pickavant forms the company JW Pickavant & Co that marketed motor Accessories, spares and tools.
• 1925 - 1930: Joe Sykes, a close friend was hired as a salesman. By the early 1930's Pickavant were manufacturing auto service tools, to cater for the rapid expansion in the motor trade, which created a constant demand for perpose designed service tools.
